Gainesville Free Healthcare Clinic Seeks July Volunteers

Hundreds of people in Gainesville will get free healthcare this summer, and it's all thanks to volunteers willing to give their time.

Remote Area Medical is hosting a free two-day clinic at Eastside High School on July 11-12, offering dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, eye exams, custom eyeglasses made on-site, and general medical care. The best part? No ID required, no cost, no barriers.

The nonprofit is now seeking volunteers to make it happen. Medical, dental, and vision professionals are needed to provide care, but you don't need any healthcare experience to help out.

General support volunteers can assist with setup on July 10 and teardown on July 13. Overnight parking volunteers will greet patients who arrive early, and interpreters can help guide people through the process in their own language.

The clinic is hosted by the University of Florida RAM Campus Chapter and serves as a lifeline for people who face the impossible choice between healthcare and other basic needs. By removing the barriers of cost and distance, RAM ensures that anyone can walk in and receive quality care.

Services will be provided first-come, first-served until capacity is reached. Past RAM clinics have served hundreds of patients in a single weekend, providing thousands of dollars worth of care that would otherwise go unmet.
