Mobile security kiosk sheltering police officer at busy traffic intersection in Accra, Ghana

Ghana Company Gives Police Weather-Proof Kiosks

✨ Faith Restored

Police officers in Ghana's capital no longer have to choose between abandoning their posts or standing in pouring rain. Electroland Ghana just installed five mobile security kiosks at busy intersections to keep officers safe and visible.

Police officers directing traffic in Accra faced an impossible choice every time storms rolled in: leave their posts unguarded or stand exposed to harsh weather. That dilemma just ended thanks to a simple but powerful solution.

Electroland Ghana Limited donated five mobile security kiosks to the Ghana Police Service, giving officers shelter at major traffic points across Greater Accra. The weatherproof stations allow police to stay visible and effective during rain and extreme heat without compromising their safety.

"When it rains or conditions are harsh, officers often have no place to take cover without abandoning their duty posts," explained Adiza Ibrahim, Electroland's Marketing Manager. "With these kiosks, they can remain on site, maintain visibility, and continue monitoring activities."

The company strategically placed the first five kiosks at high-traffic locations including Accra Mall Roundabout, Danquah Circle, and Okponglo Junction. Officers can now monitor motorists, manage traffic flow, and deter criminal activity regardless of weather conditions.

Deputy Director-General ACP Mrs. Dede Korshie Teye Enninful called the timing perfect as Ghana's rainy season begins. "Officers often face a dilemma during rains, whether to leave their post or endure the conditions," she said. "These kiosks provide a practical solution and will improve our operational effectiveness."

The Ripple Effect

The impact extends far beyond officer comfort. Continuous police presence at intersections means smoother traffic flow during storms, reduced accidents, and stronger crime deterrence at vulnerable moments when visibility typically drops.

Electroland is doubling down on this commitment by constructing a permanent police post at Coca-Cola Roundabout on Spintex Road. The company plans to expand the program nationwide, targeting the Volta, Northern, Western, and Central regions next.

The initiative reflects how private companies can strengthen public safety infrastructure through targeted, practical solutions. Electroland frames it as protecting their entire business ecosystem, recognizing that secure, well-managed streets benefit everyone from shoppers to business owners.

Ghana's police officers now have what workers in most professions take for granted: shelter from the elements while doing their jobs.
