Ghana Gas CEO Earns Law Degree While Leading Energy Firm

Leading a national energy company is a full-time job, but Judith Adjobah Blay just showed what's possible when commitment meets vision.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company graduated with a Master of Laws in Public Procurement Law and Policy from the University of Nottingham in England. The achievement, announced on July 24, 2026, came while she continued overseeing multi-million-dollar energy projects and strengthening Ghana's strategic gas infrastructure.

"Balancing the demanding responsibilities of leading one of Ghana's foremost strategic energy institutions while pursuing advanced legal studies is truly commendable and inspiring," said Richard Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Gas. The new qualification will enhance her work in corporate governance, an increasingly critical area as Ghana develops its energy sector.

Blay brings over 20 years of energy sector experience to her role. Before joining Ghana Gas, she served as Deputy Director of Contracts Administration at the Petroleum Commission, managed community relations, and led the establishment of the Procurement Department at the Bui Power Authority.

Her academic credentials now match her professional depth. She holds a master's in International Transactions from George Mason University, an MSc in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a bachelor's in French and Linguistics from the University of Ghana.
