Ghana Launches Youth Soccer League to Find Future Stars

Young soccer players across Ghana just got a major opportunity to showcase their talents on a national stage.

Procus Ghana Limited, the company behind Kivo Gari products, has joined forces with the Ghana Football Association to launch the Kivo Juvenile U-17 Club Champions League. The three-year partnership was announced Thursday at the GFA Secretariat in Accra, bringing together officials, football stakeholders, and company representatives to celebrate the new initiative.

The competition will start at the regional level, with winning teams advancing to a national championship. This structure ensures talented players from every corner of Ghana get a fair shot at recognition, regardless of where they live.

GFA Vice President Mark Addo called it a major boost for juvenile football development in the country. The tournament addresses a critical need: giving young athletes a structured pathway to develop their skills and potentially reach professional levels.

Procus Ghana isn't just lending its name to the league. Evans Kwofie, the company's Marketing Manager, explained that youth empowerment and sports development align with their core values. The company will provide jerseys, football boots, and other essential equipment to participating teams throughout the competition.

This partnership could transform how Ghana identifies and nurtures soccer talent. By creating a structured competition at the grassroots level, the initiative helps fill gaps in the country's football development system.

At the ceremony, Vice President Addo presented a signed Black Stars jersey autographed by captain Jordan Ayew to Kivo's Marketing Manager, symbolizing the partnership's official launch. The gesture connected Ghana's current soccer stars with the future talents this league hopes to develop.
