Ghana MP Ends Tree Classrooms With New School Block
Students in Takuve, Ghana no longer learn under trees after their MP funded a six-unit classroom building. The project transforms educational access in a community that struggled for years to build proper facilities.
Children in Takuve, Ghana are finally learning inside real classrooms instead of under trees, thanks to a new six-unit school block that just opened its doors.
Member of Parliament Charles Agbeve funded the construction at Takuve Basic School using his share of the district assembly's common fund. The building ends years of outdoor lessons where students had no protection from weather or distractions.
The community had tried for years to build proper classrooms on their own. "The community itself tried to raise some structures over many years for the infant teaching but proved no good result," Agbeve explained.
The MP said he saw supporting the school as a core leadership responsibility. His goal is raising educational standards across the Agotime Ziope constituency by making sure schools have the basic resources children need to learn.

Agbeve hopes the new facility will do more than just provide shelter. Better learning conditions mean better education, which he believes will strengthen the community's workforce and boost economic development over time.
The Ripple Effect
The classroom block represents a shift in how the community can invest in its future. Parents now have a real school where they can confidently enroll their children, creating opportunities that didn't exist before.
District Chief Executive Alfred Eklu Odikro praised the collaboration that made the project possible. He promised more kindergarten facilities are coming to give younger learners the same strong educational foundation.
The transformation shows what's possible when local leaders prioritize education infrastructure in underserved areas.
