Ghanaian healthcare entrepreneurs collaborating on innovative solutions for chronic disease management and community health

Ghana Opens Healthcare Startup Program for Entrepreneurs

✨ Faith Restored

A new seven-month program in Ghana will help early-stage health startups tackle diabetes, heart disease, and kidney problems. Applications are open now for both entrepreneurs and volunteer mentors worldwide.

Ghana's healthcare innovators just got a major boost. Bridge for Billions launched a free incubation program to help startups fighting some of the country's biggest health challenges.

The Ghana Social Entrepreneurs in Healthcare Program targets ventures addressing cardio-renal-metabolic diseases. That includes diabetes, heart failure, stroke, chronic kidney disease, and obesity.

Starting this year, selected entrepreneurs will get seven months of structured support through an online platform. They'll work with dedicated mentors in one-on-one sessions to refine their business models and validate their impact.

The program fills a critical gap. Many promising health ventures in Ghana never reach sustainability because they lack early-stage support and connections to the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Participants will also join expert-led sessions tailored specifically to healthcare entrepreneurship in Ghana. A special Health Systems Sprint will connect them with leading experts who understand the local landscape.

The program wraps up with an in-person pitch event. Entrepreneurs will present their solutions to mentors, ecosystem experts, and potential partners who can help them scale.

Bridge for Billions is also recruiting volunteer mentors from around the world. These experienced professionals will guide entrepreneurs through their journey, offering feedback and encouragement along the way.

Mentors can participate entirely online, making it accessible for anyone passionate about healthcare innovation and social impact. They'll receive a certificate recognizing their commitment and the chance to make a real difference in health outcomes.

"We're committed to supporting Ghana's healthcare entrepreneurs, and we know that mentorship plays a crucial role in helping early solutions become stronger, more relevant, and more sustainable," said Margarida Soares, Senior Program Manager at Bridge for Billions.

The Ripple Effect

This program could transform how Ghana tackles chronic diseases. When entrepreneurs get the right support early, their solutions reach more people and create lasting change in communities.

Bridge for Billions has already driven ecosystem development across more than 10 African countries since 2019. Their track record shows that structured support works.

The initiative comes through a partnership with Making More Health, a Boehringer Ingelheim program focused on creating healthy, self-sustaining communities worldwide.

Applications for both entrepreneurs and mentors remain open until January 30, 2026, giving plenty of time for qualified candidates to apply through the Bridge for Billions online platform.

Ghana's next generation of healthcare solutions starts here.
