The Tamale Technical University student is currently the only female referee at the 2026 Honda Football Championship, balancing her Level 400 Hospitality Management coursework with officiating some of the country's top university football teams. Most people would struggle to manage one demanding commitment, but Barikisu has built an entire career alongside her studies.

Her referee resume reads like a seasoned professional's. She's officiated matches in Ghana's Women's Premier League, Division One League, and the prestigious Ghana Premier League. Last season alone, she handled a Ghana Premier League clash between Dreams FC and Basake Holy Stars, plus an MTN Ghana FA Cup match. This season, she served as fourth official when Hearts of Oak faced Eleven Wonders at Accra Sports Stadium.

But Barikisu's influence extends far beyond Ghana's borders. She's taken her whistle to Morocco, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda, representing her country at the WAFU Zone B tournament in Kumasi and other international competitions. FIFA recognized her talent early, granting her the international referee status that opens doors across continents.
