Girls Dominate Bihar Exams: 19 of 26 Top Scorers

Girls in Bihar just proved once again that when given equal opportunity, they shine brightest.

The Bihar School Examination Board released Class 12 results on March 23, revealing that 19 of the 26 students who topped the exam are girls. This achievement caps off an impressive showing where female students also recorded a higher overall pass rate of 86.23% compared to boys at 84.09%.

The numbers tell a powerful story. Out of 670,971 girls who appeared for the exam, 578,611 passed. Among boys, 532,486 of 633,229 cleared the examination. The overall pass rate across all students reached 85.19%.

Commerce students led the way with a 93% pass rate, followed by Science at 87% and Arts at 82%. More than 516,000 students secured first division, showing strong academic performance across the board.

The Bihar Board continued its reputation for efficiency, processing over 1.3 million results in just 25 days. The exams ran from February 2 to February 13 in two daily shifts, with students receiving 15 minutes of reading time before each test.

Students who didn't pass one or two subjects can appear for compartment exams, maintaining the board's commitment that a single setback doesn't define educational futures. The passing threshold remains at 33% in each subject.
