Global School Network Launches AI Ethics Education Program

A global network of schools is teaching students not just how to use AI, but how to think critically about it.

Education in Motion (EiM), which operates 15 schools including Dulwich College International locations, launched a comprehensive AI education initiative in partnership with Professor Rose Luckin from University College London. The program reaches 11,500 students across their global network.

Unlike tech training that chases the latest tools, this approach puts human skills first. The initiative prioritizes critical thinking, creativity, and empathy while maintaining high academic standards.

"Our aim is not to chase tools, but to strengthen the human heart of education," said Lesley Meyer, Chief Education Officer at EiM. The program includes age-appropriate AI literacy curriculum designed to help students understand both the power and limitations of artificial intelligence.

Teachers receive practical playbooks based on real classroom research. Each school will pilot different AI applications and share results, creating an evidence-based framework that identifies what actually works for learning.

The program includes built-in safeguards around data privacy, ethical use, and equity. Monthly consultation sessions support teachers as they implement new approaches, ensuring students learn to use AI safely and responsibly.

Professor Luckin, a world-renowned expert on AI in education, emphasized the program's foundation in research and ethics. Her consultancy, Educate Ventures Research, will help measure the actual impact on teaching and learning rather than assuming benefits.

This initiative could reshape how schools worldwide approach technology education. By focusing on critical thinking rather than tool mastery, EiM is preparing students for jobs and challenges that don't exist yet.

The framework is designed to scale, meaning successful strategies can spread across the entire network quickly. Schools contribute evidence about what works, creating a growing knowledge base that benefits all students.

The program also addresses a growing concern among parents and educators: how do we prepare children for an AI-saturated world without losing sight of human connection and ethical reasoning?
