Google Adds Real People's Advice to AI Search Results

Searching for advice online is about to feel a lot more like asking a friend who's dealt with the same problem.

Google just rolled out an update that brings community voices straight into AI-powered search results. When you search for advice or information, you'll now see perspectives from Reddit users and online forum members alongside traditional website links.

The new feature shows up in Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews with sections labeled "Expert Advice" or "Community Perspectives." These snippets include usernames and community names so you know exactly where the advice comes from.

It's a shift away from only showing polished articles and toward surfacing real experiences from real people. Google wants AI search to feel less robotic and more grounded in human wisdom.

The update also includes a "Further Exploration" feature that suggests related questions you might want to ask next. Think of it as your search engine anticipating your follow-up questions before you type them.

Google is making other improvements too. Links inside AI responses now stand out more clearly instead of hiding in text. On desktop, hovering over a link shows a preview card with the website name, so you know where you're headed before clicking.

If you subscribe to news sites, you'll see a "Subscribed" label on articles from those publishers. Those articles might even rank higher in your results, making it easier to find content you're already paying for.
