The tech giant announced it's bringing AI-powered charging features to more than 350 EV models that use Android Auto. Instead of constantly worrying about running out of power or juggling multiple apps to plan charging stops, drivers can now get personalized recommendations built right into their navigation.

Here's how it works: Add your EV information to Google Maps and enter your destination. The app instantly shows how much battery you'll use on the trip. Enter your current charge level, and Maps suggests exactly where to stop for charging, how much battery you'll have when you arrive, and adjusts your arrival time to account for charging breaks.

The technology behind these predictions is impressively sophisticated. Google combines artificial intelligence with advanced energy models that factor in each vehicle's unique details like weight and battery size. Then it layers in real-time information about traffic, road elevation, and even weather conditions to deliver accurate predictions for hundreds of different vehicles.

The rollout covers U.S. drivers across more than 15 car brands right now, with plans to expand to most American EVs soon. Drivers can check Google's support page to see if their specific model is compatible yet.
