Guadalajara Airport Adds 6 New Routes to US and Paris

Travelers flying in and out of western Mexico just got a whole lot more options, and it's opening doors for tourism, business, and family connections across two continents.

Guadalajara International Airport announced it's adding five new direct routes to U.S. cities in October, plus a Paris connection launching next April. Budget airline Volaris will start flying to Atlanta, Washington D.C., Boston, Raleigh-Durham, and Nashville beginning October 2nd and 15th.

The Atlanta and Washington routes will run four times weekly, while Boston, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham will operate three times per week. That brings the airport's total destinations to 71 and daily flights to over 100.

Next spring, Aeroméxico will launch three weekly flights to Paris using Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offering up to 800 seats each way. Paris becomes the airport's second European destination after Madrid, which has had direct service since 2021.

Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus called the expansion part of his mission to make Guadalajara "the best connected airport in Latin America." The timing couldn't be better as the airport just opened a second runway as part of a $1.3 billion infrastructure upgrade.

The numbers back up the ambition. Guadalajara's airport served 18.7 million passengers last year and has already seen 12.9 million travelers through August this year, up nearly 5% from the same period in 2025.

Beyond convenient travel, these new routes mean stronger cultural and economic ties between Mexico's second-largest city and major international markets. Local officials are celebrating increased opportunities for commerce, tourism, and family visits that work both ways.
