Guinea Launches $800K MediaLab to Empower Young Innovators

Young innovators in Guinea now have a dedicated space to turn their ideas into reality, thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between the country's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Orange Foundation Guinea.

The agreement, signed in April 2026, establishes a Solidarity MediaLab valued at 800 million Guinean francs (roughly $93,000 USD). The facility will be housed within Guinea's Cité des Sciences et de l'Innovation, creating a dedicated hub for digital fabrication, creative experimentation, and hands-on learning.

The MediaLab gives young people access to tools and resources that were previously out of reach. Participants will be able to prototype ideas, develop projects, and gain practical skills aligned with emerging digital sectors.
