Hamline Women's Lacrosse Smashes 7 Records in One Game

Hamline University's women's lacrosse team just rewrote their record books in spectacular fashion, breaking seven program records in one game while crushing conference rival Augsburg 26-3.

The April 3 matchup started with an explosion of talent. The Pipers scored 11 goals in the first quarter alone, setting a pace that never slowed.

Sophomore Emma Collins led the offensive clinic with eight goals and three assists. Juniors Emma Halweg and Kayli Starkey each added four goals, with Starkey also leading the team in assists for the game.

The record-breaking didn't stop with the final score. The team shattered marks for most goals in a game, most goals in a half, and largest margin of victory in program history.

They also set new highs for team points, assists, and shots in a single game with 54 total attempts. Junior Kayli Starkey now holds the individual program record for assists with 38 and counting this season.

The Ripple Effect

Coach Adam Dobis is experiencing his best season at Hamline, but he's most proud of what's happening beyond the scoreboard. The team went undefeated during spring break, using that momentum to build confidence heading into conference play.

"We have a great foundation set as a team and are excited for the conference challenges coming our way," Dobis shared. He credits time together off the field for strengthening their on-field chemistry.

The coach's favorite part isn't the wins or records. "Working with each individual player and seeing their progression as a person, student, and lacrosse player throughout the year" drives his passion for the program.

That investment in development is paying off with the program's best record in five years. The team's success shows what's possible when talented athletes come together with supportive coaching and genuine camaraderie.

The Pipers' next challenge comes at their alumni game against UW Stevens Point, where fans will get another chance to watch this historic season unfold.
