The Harlem Globetrotters are turning their 100th birthday party into a world record celebration, and 200 fans will get to be part of history.
The iconic basketball team is heading to The O2 in London on May 26 for a special anniversary show. They're asking 100 pairs of fans to join hands overhead and create the longest sports fan tunnel ever recorded while two players attempt their own incredible feats.
As fans form the human archway, Globetrotters star Cherelle "Torch" George will dribble a basketball through the entire tunnel, aiming for the record for longest basketball dribble through a human archway. At the same time, teammate Lucius "Too Tall" Winston will run through handing out high-fives, making sure all 200 fans share in the moment.
Fans don't need to sign up in advance. Audience members will be selected randomly on the day, and a Guinness World Records official will be there to make it official.

Torch is no stranger to record-breaking. She became the first female Globetrotter to earn a Guinness World Records title in 2018 and currently holds five records, including most basketball under the leg tumbles in one minute at 32. Too Tall brings his own impressive resume with six records, including most basketball layups in three minutes at 66.
Why This Inspires
This celebration shows how sports can bring people together in the most joyful ways. The Globetrotters have spent a century entertaining families and breaking down barriers, and they're marking this milestone by making fans the stars of the show.
"This is what the Globetrotters are all about, bringing people together and creating moments that last a lifetime," Torch said. She's right that combining 200 fans, 100 years of history, and one of the world's greatest arenas creates something truly special.
Everyone who participates will have the chance to buy an official Record Participant Certificate. They'll walk away with proof that they didn't just watch history, they made it.
The Globetrotters continue proving that the best achievements happen when we join hands and lift each other up.
