Kerrie Sillet thought she was unpacking winter hats and fluffy bags at her Norwich charity shop until one of the donations started breathing.

The manager of Dawn's New Horizon discovered a hedgehog nestled at the bottom of a donation bag on Wednesday morning. The little creature had burrowed into children's coats left at the shop's outdoor drop-off point overnight.

"I thought it might be a fluffy bag or a winter hat until it started breathing," Sillet said. In her years managing the shop, she's seen plenty of unusual donations, including false teeth, but never a live animal.
