Holocaust Survivor's Story Shared on Remembrance Day

Jonathan Applefield will share his mother's remarkable survival story at the Fall River Public Library on January 27, bringing history to life for a new generation of listeners.

His mother, Janet Singer Applefield, was hidden from ages 5 to 10 during the Holocaust. The free public event takes place at 6 p.m. in the main library's meeting room at 104 N. Main St., timed perfectly with Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Janet's story covers the constant dangers she faced as a child in hiding and the difficult aftermath of war. Jonathan will also share what happened to her parents and extended family, honoring their memory through honest storytelling.

The event comes through a partnership with Boston 3G and Living Links, two organizations dedicated to Holocaust remembrance. Boston 3G was founded by grandchildren of Holocaust survivors in the Greater Boston area, while Living Links became the first nationwide organization connecting third-generation survivors.
