Hundreds Rally to Search for Missing Oklahoma Boy

When 12-year-old Ryan "RJ" Davis went missing, his Oklahoma community refused to wait on the sidelines.

Hundreds of volunteers descended on Lake Burtschi in Grady County this weekend, transforming a Saturday into an all-hands search mission. Kent Jones launched his drone to scan clearings from above, while Jeremy and William spent five hours navigating the lake's waters in their boat.

"I know this lake because I fish it so much, so I thought I would come down here and try to help," William explained. The pair searched for any sign of the boy, who was last seen on January 2 near a Quality Inn.

Allana Taylor organized the volunteer effort after seeing her own 14-year-old son in RJ's story. "I saw my nephews in RJ. He's a member of our community," she said, rallying neighbors to join the Find RJ Davis group.

The Ripple Effect

The search spans two counties now, with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation coordinating professional and civilian efforts. Volunteers bring specialized skills: drone operators provide aerial views, boaters cover water terrain, and ground searchers comb camping areas where RJ, who knows outdoor survival skills, might take shelter.

The community treats every unsuccessful search location as reason for hope. If he's not there, he might still be alive somewhere else.

Taylor promises the search will continue tomorrow and beyond. OSBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to RJ's safe return.
