Idaho Hosts World Record Hammock Hangout This Saturday

Lying in a hammock while breaking a world record might be the most relaxing achievement you'll ever earn.

The Park at Swan Valley in Eastern Idaho is hosting the world's largest hammock hangout attempt this Saturday, partnering with Grand Trunk to bring hundreds of people together for one epic outdoor moment. The current record stands at 269 people, and organizers are ready to crush it.

Bryce and Nellie Jurgy, who own the campground, built their entire lives around getting people outdoors. Five years ago, they bought the property with one simple goal: inspire families to seek adventure. They started with YouTube videos and geocaching treasure hunts around the world, then brought that same spirit home to Idaho.

"Our whole incentive of doing this campground and creating content is just to get people outdoors and adventuring," Bryce said.

Check-in starts at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at 1908 Chapel Rd. in Swan Valley. Every ticketed participant receives a custom hammock and stand, complete with a special "world record hammock" pouch. After attempting the record, attendees can purchase their gear for 50% off to keep the memory alive.

The event doesn't stop at hammock lounging. A full festival follows the record attempt, featuring live music from Arbour Season, a climbing wall, carnival games, a mechanical bull, and food. The Jurgys even planned games people can play while relaxing in their hammocks.
