Illinois Nursing Home Welcomes 3 New Centenarians

Three more residents at Good Samaritan Home of Quincy have reached their 100th birthday, bringing the facility's total number of centenarians to seven.

The nursing home will celebrate all seven members of its Century Club on Thursday, May 14, during a special reception. The annual event honors residents who have lived a full century, bringing together the newly inducted members with those already in the club.

"The Century Club celebration is truly the highlight of National Skilled Nursing Care Week for both our residents and our staff," said Development Director Nate Halfpap. The celebration includes cake, punch, and most importantly, quality time with families.

The reception takes place at 1 p.m. in the facility's social room. But the real highlight isn't the refreshments or even the milestone itself.

The most meaningful part happens when the centenarians take the microphone. They share wisdom and life lessons gathered over more than 100 years of living, offering perspectives that span world wars, technological revolutions, and generations of change.
