India just unveiled an ambitious plan to increase farmer incomes through technology, high-value crops, and stronger market connections.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Union Budget 2026 focuses on productivity and diversification into fisheries, animal husbandry, and premium crops. The strategy targets rural employment while helping farmers earn more from their harvests.
