India Flower Show Features 100+ Rare Blooms in Visakhapatnam

A sea of color has transformed VMRDA City Central Park in Visakhapatnam into a floral paradise that's drawing thousands of visitors through this weekend.

The crown jewel of Visakha Utsav 2026 opened Thursday, bringing together over 100 varieties of rare and exotic flowers from major hubs across India. Orchids, tulips, lilies, carnations, and the stunning Bird of Paradise are among the unique species flown in specially from Bengaluru and Kolkata for the three-day celebration.

The flower show runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through January 31, giving families and flower enthusiasts plenty of time to experience the spectacle. Massive floral sculptures and creative theme-based designs serve as the exhibition's centerpieces, while local artists have added their own flair with intricate vegetable carvings.

A bonsai exhibition rounds out the event, showcasing the patient artistry of miniature tree cultivation. VMRDA chairman M.V. Pranav Gopal noted that organizers went the extra mile this year to bring in species rarely seen in the region.
