Indian Solar Firm Lands 550 MW Order, Expands to 11 GW

A three-year-old Indian solar company just landed a repeat order worth 550 megawatts of solar modules, signaling that homegrown clean energy manufacturing is winning over major power producers.

GREW Solar will supply high-efficiency TOPCon modules to an independent power producer, with delivery scheduled by March 2026. The order marks a significant vote of confidence in India's expanding domestic solar industry.

Founded in 2022 with backing from the Chiripal Group, GREW Solar has grown at breakneck speed. The company launched with 1.2 gigawatts of manufacturing capacity at its Rajasthan facility and scaled to 3 GW by 2025, producing modules rated up to 590 watts.

CEO Vinay Thadani says the order reflects growing trust in Indian manufacturing capabilities. He noted that domestic production is essential for India's energy security goals under the country's Viksit Bharat 2047 roadmap, a blueprint for becoming a developed nation by its centennial.

The company isn't slowing down. GREW Solar is expanding its Dudu facility in Rajasthan to an impressive 11 GW capacity while building a new 3 GW solar cell plant in Madhya Pradesh.

Plans call for further expansion to 8 GW by late 2026, creating a more integrated supply chain. This backward integration means the company can produce more components in-house, reducing dependence on imports.
