India's Bapatla District Launches Safe Adventure Tourism

Visitors to Ramapuram beach in India's Bapatla district can now soar above the coastline in paramotors and speed across waves on jet skis, all under the watchful eye of a new safety committee designed to keep adventure seekers protected.

The Bapatla district administration launched both the safety oversight program and adventure tourism activities on April 19, 2026, at Chirala's popular beach destination. District Collector V. Vinod Kumar established the committee under Andhra Pradesh's new Adventure Tourism Guidelines, making safety a priority from day one.

The district-level committee has real authority to make adventure tourism both exciting and secure. Members will identify suitable adventure zones throughout the region, grant official approval certificates to operators, and continuously monitor safety standards at active sites.

When operators fall short on safety protocols, the committee can take action against them. The group plans to meet every three months to review conditions and address any emerging concerns.

Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, who oversees Information, Public Relations, Housing, and Tourism, joined other officials to inaugurate the "Dive Chirala" program. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Nukasani Balaji and local MLA M. Malakondaiah also attended the beach launch.
