India's First Cow Culture Museum Opens in Mathura

India is opening a museum that honors one of its most culturally significant animals in a city already famous for spiritual tourism.

The Uttar Pradesh government is creating the National Cow Culture Museum in Mathura, making it the first of its kind in India. The museum will open on the campus of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University, bringing together centuries of tradition with modern science.

More than 100 digital and physical exhibits will fill the space, showcasing indigenous cattle breeds from across India, including rare and endangered varieties.
