India's First Homemade Military Aircraft Completes Flight

India just proved it can build world-class military aircraft at home, as the first domestically manufactured C-295 transport plane soared through the skies on its debut flight this week.

The Indian Air Force celebrated the successful test on Wednesday, marking a historic moment for the country's aerospace ambitions. Tata Advanced Systems Limited, working alongside European aerospace giant Airbus, assembled the aircraft at their state-of-the-art facility in Vadodara.

This isn't just one plane. India is building 40 C-295 aircraft domestically as part of a larger 56-plane order worth approximately $2.6 billion. The remaining 16 will come directly from Airbus.
