IndiGo Launches First India-Greece Direct Flights

Flying to Greece just got easier for millions of Indian travelers who've dreamed of exploring the Mediterranean country. IndiGo launched history-making direct flights from India to Athens in January 2026, becoming the first Indian airline to offer non-stop service to Greece.

The new routes connect Mumbai and Delhi to Athens International Airport three times weekly. Mumbai's service started January 23, followed by Delhi's flights on January 24, both using the airline's new Airbus A321XLR aircraft.

Until now, Indian travelers heading to Greece faced long layovers in Middle Eastern or European cities. The direct flights eliminate these time-consuming connections and reduce total travel time substantially. Fares start at 21,999 rupees.

The timing couldn't be better. Greece has become one of Europe's hottest destinations for Indian tourists, with its ancient ruins, whitewashed island villages, and crystal-blue Mediterranean waters drawing visitors by the thousands. Athens serves as the perfect gateway to iconic islands like Santorini with its famous sunsets, party destination Mykonos, and history-rich Crete with its ancient Knossos ruins.
