Iran-U.S. Peace Deal "Within Reach," Says Oman Diplomat

Decades of standoff between Iran and the United States may finally be nearing a peaceful resolution, with diplomats on both sides showing unprecedented commitment to reaching an agreement.

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced this week that negotiations have advanced far enough to make a comprehensive peace deal achievable. The talks focus on ensuring Iran never develops nuclear weapons through diplomacy rather than military action.

The breakthrough centers on what Albusaidi calls a "zero stockpile" approach. Instead of debating enrichment levels, both sides agreed that preventing accumulation of enriched uranium material makes building a bomb impossible.

Under the proposed framework, Iran's existing enriched uranium would be diluted to the lowest levels and converted into fuel. International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors would verify all materials and monitor compliance comprehensively.

Albusaidi shared that Iran has agreed to grant inspectors full access to sites that were targeted during a recent 12-day conflict. If the deal moves forward, U.S. verification teams would also be allowed to inspect Iranian facilities.

Technical negotiations continue Monday with IAEA leadership present, followed by broader talks next week. The foreign minister estimates that once an agreement is signed, inspectors could complete all verification work within three months.

Both President Trump and Iranian officials appear committed to success. Albusaidi, who briefed U.S. Vice President JD Vance directly, believes both sides are negotiating seriously and in good faith.
