Firefighters will also receive enhanced protective clothing designed to provide superior thermal protection while reducing fatigue during long incidents. Modern fire gear keeps responders cooler and more comfortable, which directly impacts their ability to perform under extreme conditions.

One of the most exciting changes involves switching from traditional petrol-powered rescue equipment to battery-operated hydraulic tools. These quieter tools let crews communicate better during stressful roadside rescues and eliminate dangerous exhaust fumes at accident scenes.

The investment also includes a new water tanker, a refurbished incident command unit, and a specialized Scorpion Class B fire appliance arriving in 2026.
