Jacksonville Jaguars Cut Stadium Food Prices to $5

Larry and Becky Damato walked away from a Jacksonville Jaguars concession stand with five items and paid less than $25. At most NFL stadiums, that wouldn't even cover two beers.

The Jaguars launched their "Fans First Favorites" menu on August 21, slashing prices on stadium classics to just $4.99 each. Four dedicated concession stands now sell hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and pretzels at the bargain price, along with domestic beer and bottled water.

The savings are real. A family can grab a hot dog, nachos, popcorn, water, and beer for under $25 before tax. Elsewhere in the same stadium, a single 24-ounce beer costs $16.49.

Louis and Yolanda Taylor, Jacksonville locals attending the Jaguars-Panthers preseason game, couldn't hide their excitement. "We'll take it," Louis said. "The prices are great, especially at an NFL game."

The team went even further with beverages. Fans can buy a 24-ounce souvenir cup for $12.99 and get free refills for every game the rest of the season. "We'll drink as many of these as we can," Taylor said, promising to attend every home game.

The Ripple Effect

This isn't just a one-game promotion. The affordable menu will continue through all eight home games this season, including both preseason matchups and six regular-season contests.

Jaguars Chief Operating Officer Chad Johnson said the program offers "a taste of things to come." The team is using this season as a preview for their Stadium of the Future, opening in 2028, which will feature local food vendors and street-level pricing on select items.

While the team acknowledged fans are dealing with stadium changes (the Jaguars will play in Orlando next year during construction), Johnson emphasized this initiative reflects a bigger vision. The new stadium will make affordable, quality food a permanent feature, not a temporary perk.

Other teams are watching. When professional sports franchises prove they can offer reasonable prices and still fill seats, it creates pressure across the league to follow suit.

Families who've been priced out of NFL games finally have a reason to come back.
