Gordon-Levitt didn't mince words about why these tragedies keep happening. "These amoral companies just keep allowing these awful things to happen on their platform because they will always prioritize profits over the public good, even when it comes to kids," he said.

Section 230 has protected tech companies from legal consequences for nearly three decades. The proposed Sunset Section 230 Act would dismantle that shield, giving families a path to hold platforms accountable when their children are harmed.
