K-Pop Star Lee Know Donates $72K for Nepal Flood Victims

When floods tore through Nepal, destroying homes and pushing families to the brink, K-pop star Lee Know knew he had to help. The Stray Kids member donated 100 million won (about $72,600) to World Vision on Friday to support emergency relief efforts for children and families affected by the disaster.

"I hope my support can offer a little strength to those going through this difficult time," Lee Know said through his agency, JYP Entertainment. He added that he hopes everyone affected by the floods can "return to peaceful daily life as soon as possible."

World Vision will use the funds to provide essentials that families desperately need right now. That includes food, temporary shelter, clean water and sanitation supplies for those who lost their homes and livelihoods in the flooding.

This isn't Lee Know's first time stepping up when people need help. He's been sponsoring children through World Vision since 2014, starting his charitable work long before his rise to global fame. In 2024, he donated another $72,600 to help fight the global food crisis.

The Ripple Effect

Lee Know's generosity extends beyond international disasters. Last year alone, he donated $72,600 to Samsung Medical Center for medical care and another $72,600 to a cat rescue organization. His bandmates in Stray Kids have followed his example, with member Changbin also donating 100 million won for children on his birthday.

The group itself has made disaster relief part of their mission, contributing to relief efforts in both Korea and Hong Kong. Their message is clear: success means nothing if you can't lift others up along the way.

Lee Know made this donation while in the middle of Stray Kids' "Run It" world tour, which launched in July. The band's latest EP "This & That" just hit number one on the Billboard 200, proving you can reach the top of the charts while keeping your feet firmly grounded in what matters.
