"It's in the middle of a park, which makes it somewhat remote," Lucas explained. "You get some level of privacy unless 50,000 fans take over every street possible."

The village offers more than just world-class soccer fields. Two golf courses sit nearby, along with swimming facilities and other amenities designed to help players relax between training sessions. England can essentially take over an entire section of the community without the noise and distractions of a busy city center.

Kansas City earned its nickname as the "home of soccer in the US" through years of dedication to the sport. The city hosts both MLS team Sporting Kansas City and NWSL side Kansas City Current, creating a passionate soccer culture that will make England feel welcome.

England's presence will impact far beyond the training ground. Mayor Lucas emphasized how the World Cup arrives at a perfect time for bringing people together across differences.

About 15 years ago, Kansas City invested heavily in upgrading Swope's facilities. The goal wasn't just to attract international teams like England, but to give American youth soccer players access to excellent fields and training grounds. That investment is now paying dividends for the entire community.

Local youth players will see world-class athletes training in their own backyard. Fans from across the region will gather to catch glimpses of their heroes. The economic boost and global attention will shine a spotlight on Kansas City's commitment to soccer at every level.
