Kauaʻi Students Can Win $20K College Scholarships

Three Kauaʻi high school seniors will walk away with $20,000 each to fund their college education, thanks to scholarships designed to celebrate the island's brightest young minds.

The Grove Farm Foundation opened applications this week for its 2026 scholarships, available to graduating seniors from Kapa'a High, Kaua'i High, and Waimea High School. Students planning to attend a four-year college or university can apply now through February 20.

The scholarships reward more than just good grades. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA and must demonstrate strong citizenship, character, and community service.

There's one meaningful catch that makes this program special. Winners must complete ongoing community service work each year to keep their scholarship, creating a ripple effect of positive impact that flows back to Kauaʻi even while students pursue their education elsewhere.

Last year, the foundation awarded scholarships to Michaela Alcaraz and Lauryn Hashimoto of Kaua'i High School, plus Margarita Lomongo of Waimea High School. These three students now represent the kind of excellence and community commitment the program celebrates.
