Kenya and AfriLabs Partner to Expand Digital Access

ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Gitau and AfriLabs Executive Director Anna Ekeledo met in Kuwait this month to map out a partnership that could reshape how innovation spreads across Africa. The two leaders gathered on the sidelines of the Digital Cooperation Organization Annual General Assembly with one clear goal: ensure digital opportunities reach every corner of the continent.

The partnership focuses on linking Kenyan innovation hubs to AfriLabs' programs that span the entire continent. This means entrepreneurs and tech creators in Kenya will gain access to resources, mentorship, and connections they've never had before.

Kenya is bringing its National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and draft Startup Laws Act to the table. These frameworks show the country is serious about leading Africa's digital transformation while building systems that work for everyone.

AfriLabs plans to expand its presence in Kenya and Eastern Africa, helping distribute innovation projects more evenly across regions that have been left behind. No more concentration of resources in just a few major cities.
