Kia Hits 100,000 Electric Cars Sold in the UK

Kia just crossed a major green milestone, selling its 100,000th electric vehicle in the UK and proving that zero-emission cars are going mainstream.

The landmark car was an EV5 GT-Line S in Iceberg Green, registered to a lucky customer on March 11, 2026. Kia became one of the first car companies and the first Korean brand to hit six figures in UK electric vehicle sales.

The numbers tell an impressive story of steady growth. Kia sold just 20 electric cars in 2014 when the Soul EV first launched. By 2025, that number jumped to nearly 22,000 electric vehicles in a single year.

March 2026 marked another record for the brand. Nearly three in ten Kias sold that month were fully electric, the highest percentage in the company's history.

The e-Niro and Niro EV led the charge with over 51,000 sales since launch. The popular EV6 contributed another 20,000 sales, while newer models like the EV3 and EV9 continue building momentum.
