Kindergarten Class Wins National Literacy Title

Twenty kindergarteners in Lumberton, North Carolina, just proved that when it comes to reading, age is just a number.

The class from Magnolia Elementary School earned the Literacy Bowl MVP Classroom title, putting them among just 40 classrooms nationwide to receive this honor from Imagine Learning. Their secret to success? Pure dedication and 240 minutes of practice with a personalized literacy program.

The Eighth Annual Imagine Learning Literacy Bowl isn't just about screen time. The program adapts to each child's individual learning pace, speeding up when students master concepts quickly and slowing down to provide extra support when they need it.

Teacher Jonie Chavis guided her young students through the competition, watching them develop both language and literacy skills side by side. The achievement is especially impressive for kindergarteners, who are just beginning their educational journey.

Principal Charles Locklear couldn't contain his excitement about the win. "This is remarkable," he said. "I am so proud of our students and all of their hard work."
