The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is taking runners on a whole new journey this February, and it's putting Lagos in the spotlight like never before.

After 10 years on the same beloved course, organizers announced Thursday that the February 14th race will start at ORCA Mall on Victoria Island and wind through sections of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road before finishing at the iconic Eko Atlantic City. The 42-kilometer route change marks the first major shift for Africa's biggest road race, which holds a coveted Gold Label status from World Athletics.
