Las Vegas Unites 120 Faith Leaders for Community Service

More than 120 faith leaders from across Las Vegas are proving that unity isn't just a nice idea—it's a practice that happens twice a year at City Hall.

The next Citywide Unity Prayer Celebration takes place Saturday, July 11 at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers at 495 S. Main Street. The event is free and open to everyone in the community.

This gathering isn't just symbolic. It's part of the Mayor's Faith Initiative, a working group launched in 2012 that represents over 70,000 congregants from houses of worship throughout the Las Vegas valley.

The celebration brings together the City of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and local faith organizations. Their shared focus: making the community better through service.

This July's event features keynote speaker Shawn M. Nicholson, an author and workforce strategist with more than 30 years of experience. His work centers on building economic mobility in underserved communities, bringing practical hope to the day's message of unity.
