London Dog Charity Gets £7K From Raffle House Players
A North London animal rescue just received a £7,170 donation that covers an entire week of operations during its busiest season. Raffle House players chose the dog charity from a list of partners, providing crucial funds as abandoned pet numbers surge.
When All Dogs Matter opened its doors in January, a £7,170 check was waiting to help 350 dogs find homes this year.
The North London charity received its first donation from Raffle House, a prize draw company that lets ticket buyers choose which charity receives part of their entry fee. Despite partnering for only half of 2024, enough players selected All Dogs Matter to fund a full week of the rescue's operations.
That timing couldn't be better. The charity fielded 30 calls per day in December from people wanting to surrender their dogs, many needing expensive veterinary care. CEO Ira Moss says the organization needs £1,000 daily to cover medicine, food, kennels and emergencies.
All Dogs Matter started in 2009 when Moss and actor Peter Egan noticed an influx of abandoned Staffordshire Bull Terriers. What began as a breed-specific rescue now rehomes 350 to 400 dogs of all types each year from its kennels in Waltham Abbey.

The current surrender crisis stems from multiple pressures. Many dogs came from unscrupulous breeders and arrived with behavioral or health issues owners couldn't handle. Others are lingering effects from pandemic-era impulse adoptions when people underestimated the long-term commitment.
The Ripple Effect
Raffle House's model turns entertainment into impact. When players buy tickets for multimillion-pound home giveaways, they direct where the charitable portion goes. Executive Director James Mieville grew up with Brindle Staffies and says he expects player support for All Dogs Matter to grow as more animal lovers discover the partnership.
The donation proves how small redirected choices add up. Thousands of individual raffle entries became seven days of second chances for unwanted dogs across London.
Now All Dogs Matter can focus on what it does best: matching loyal companions with families ready to welcome them home.
