Lubbock Gains 174 Jobs as 5 Companies Invest $67M

Five companies just bet big on Lubbock, Texas, and the payoff means 174 new careers for local residents.

Terracon Engineering Consultants is leading the charge with a $6 million expansion that will create 75 new positions for engineers, scientists, and technicians. The employee-owned firm chose Lubbock for its central West Texas location and access to talented workers in technical fields.

Locally owned Paramount Hardware and Supply is investing $3.8 million to strengthen its distribution operations across the region. The construction supply company will add 15 jobs as it expands facilities to better serve residential and commercial customers throughout West Texas.

Redemption Aero is building something the region hasn't seen before: a specialized aviation maintenance facility that will service commercial aircraft parts. The company is investing $3.65 million to retrofit an existing building and plans to create 54 jobs that will pay workers a projected $62.8 million over the next decade.

An automotive parts distributor represented by Indianapolis-based developer Ambrose is establishing a new distribution center in Lubbock Business Park. That project brings $14 million in investment and 30 new positions to the community.

To support future growth, local developer Seals Commercial Holdings is investing $40 million in a 350,000-square-foot facility designed for manufacturing and distribution companies. The turnkey building solves a critical shortage of large industrial spaces in Lubbock.

The Ripple Effect

These investments show how one city's economic momentum builds on itself. When companies see others choosing Lubbock, it validates the decision and creates a growth cycle that benefits everyone in the community.

Since 2004, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance has helped 330 companies establish or expand operations in the area. Those businesses have committed to creating over 14,000 jobs and investing more than $3.3 billion in the local economy.

The combined annual payroll from just these five new projects totals $11 million flowing into West Texas households each year.
