Lynchburg Unity Walk Closes Streets for Community Event

Lynchburg, Virginia is making room for something special this Saturday as downtown streets transform into pathways for unity.

On February 21, a portion of Fifth Street will close from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to host the Unity Walk, an event designed to educate, empower, and unite the community. Several intersecting streets including Floyd, Jackson, Monroe, Park Avenue, Polk, Taylor, and Wise will also temporarily close where they meet Fifth Street.

The city is working to ensure everyone can participate safely while keeping emergency routes accessible. Motorists will need to use alternate routes during the five-hour event, with Fillmore and Harrison Streets remaining open for through traffic.
