Man Saves Toddler Wandering Barefoot in Georgia Parking Lot
DJ Webb spotted a 2-year-old walking alone through a mall parking lot and jumped into action, finding her brothers unsupervised in a nearby car. His quick thinking kept three children safe until help arrived.
When DJ Webb left Town Center Mall in Atlanta on Monday, he never expected to become a hero. But seeing a barefoot toddler wandering alone through the parking lot changed everything.
Webb immediately worried the little girl would get hit by a car or worse. He approached her carefully, trying to keep her safe while figuring out where she came from.
That's when he noticed two boys, ages 5 and 7, sitting alone in a nearby car watching YouTube videos. They had no idea their baby sister had climbed out and was in danger.
Webb knocked on the window and spoke with the 7-year-old, who proudly told him he was babysitting his siblings. Despite the dangerous situation, Webb was touched by the boy's sense of responsibility as a big brother.
Knowing the children needed help, Webb called 911. Cobb Police arrived quickly to assist.

The children's mother, Angela Weichmann, 42, eventually returned to the car with another older child. She was arrested and charged with three misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct for leaving the children unsupervised.
Officers took the three kids to the precinct, where they ate pizza and stayed safe until a relative could pick them up.
Sunny's Take
Webb shared videos of the incident online, where they've been viewed tens of thousands of times. While some commenters questioned why he called police, Webb stands by his decision. "I had no choice because I had no idea who would be there for the kids," he explained.
Most responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with people thanking him for his quick action and compassion.
Looking back, Webb sees meaning in the moment. He usually shops at a mall much closer to home and isn't sure why he went to Town Center that day. "I believe God brought me here. He needed me here," Webb said.
The 7-year-old's protective instinct toward his little sister, even in an unsafe situation, shows the natural love between siblings. Webb's compassion ensured that love could continue growing in a safer environment.
