Meghan Trainor Welcomes Baby Girl Mikey Moon via Surrogate

Meghan Trainor's family just got a little bigger, and the love is already overflowing.

The "All About That Bass" singer announced Tuesday that she and husband Daryl Sabara welcomed baby girl Mikey Moon on January 18 via surrogate. She's joining big brothers Riley, 4, and Barry, 2, who couldn't be more excited about their new sister.

"Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate," Trainor shared on Instagram. The couple expressed deep gratitude to their medical team for making their dream of expanding their family possible.

The decision to use a surrogate came after extensive conversations with doctors. Trainor had faced gestational diabetes during her previous pregnancies and delivered both sons via cesarean section.

"We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family," she explained. For Trainor, the choice prioritized both her health and her ability to keep performing and caring for her growing family.

The health challenges sparked a complete lifestyle transformation for the 33-year-old singer. She embraced fitness and nutrition education to manage her condition and stay strong for her career and kids.

"If I want to tour forever, I got to be at my strongest," Trainor told KIIS FM last November. "If I want to lift up my kids from their crib and not pull out my back."

The sweetest detail? Riley and Barry got to choose their baby sister's middle name, Moon. It's a beautiful reminder that building a family looks different for everyone, and there's no single "right" way to do it.

Trainor has always been open about wanting a big family, telling People magazine back in 2021 that she was "ready for three more kids!" Now at her goal of three, she's taking time to soak in these precious early moments.
