Mikaela Shiffrin just reminded the world why she's the greatest Alpine skier of all time, winning her 108th World Cup race in commanding fashion.

The American superstar dominated Sunday's slalom competition in Špindlerův Mlýn, Czechia, finishing 1.67 seconds ahead of her closest competitor. The victory secured her ninth slalom Crystal Globe, a record that may never be broken.

Despite thick fog blanketing the upper half of the course, Shiffrin made her intentions clear from the start. Her first run was nearly perfect, putting her an astonishing 1.26 seconds ahead of the entire field as the crowd erupted in celebration.

On her second run, the two-time Olympic gold medalist skied smart and steady through the top section before pushing hard in the final stretch. It marked her 71st slalom victory and continues an extraordinary season where she's won all but one slalom race.

Swiss world champion Camille Rast finished second, while Germany's Emma Aicher rounded out the podium in third. The win came just one day after Shiffrin placed third in the giant slalom competition.

"Sometimes you just have a good feeling in a place," Shiffrin said after her win. "They really take care of the athletes at this event. It's nostalgic too. I feel 15 again and I just love skiing."
