Missouri Nonprofit Gets New Floors from Charity Donation

A Missouri nonprofit that provides temporary housing for families in need is getting a major upgrade that will make stays more comfortable for its guests.

The Agape House of Vandalia announced it's replacing flooring in all downstairs guest rooms thanks to a donation from Columbian Charities of Missouri. The facility serves as a temporary home for families traveling to receive medical care or facing other hardships.

The renovation comes at a crucial time for the organization, which recently lost its manager, Teena Wooley. The nonprofit is now searching for new leadership to continue serving families in need.

Meanwhile, the organization's Fill the Tank, Fill the Heart program is making a real difference for visiting families. Treasurer Kay Robnett reported that three gas cards have been distributed to families with children staying at the facility. A grant from Poet Bioprocessing of Laddonia funds the program, helping ease the financial burden on families already facing difficult circumstances.

The Ripple Effect

The support flowing into Agape House shows how communities rally around shared values. Eleven churches from across the region donated to keep the facility running, including congregations from Centralia, Vandalia, Curryville, Farber, Laddonia, Wellsville, and Thompson.

Each donation, whether for new flooring or gas cards, removes one more worry from families during stressful times. Parents can focus on their children's medical appointments rather than where they'll sleep or how they'll afford the drive home.
