Moms for America Action announced it's making illegal Chinese vapes a top priority for 2026, mobilizing parents nationwide to demand stronger enforcement against manufacturers flooding U.S. markets with products designed to hook children. "For moms, this is personal," said Emily Stack, the group's executive director. "Illegal Chinese vapes are showing up in our schools, our neighborhoods, and our homes every single day."

The campaign comes on the heels of major federal action. Last year, authorities seized $86.5 million worth of illegal vapes in Chicago as part of "Operation Vape Trail," a Drug Enforcement Agency initiative targeting illicit sales.

The numbers tell a troubling story. China's vape industry is worth $28 billion, and despite federal restrictions, two-thirds of those products reach American consumers. More than 80% of vapes sold nationwide aren't authorized for sale.

What makes these products particularly dangerous is their intentional design. Many illegal Chinese vapes come in candy flavors and bright packaging that appeals directly to children.

"This is not an accident; it's by design," Stack explained. "China has built a billion-dollar industry on addicting American kids to illegal products that have no place in our communities."
