Montreal Victoire Parade Saturday After Historic Cup Win

The Montreal Victoire are bringing their championship celebration to the streets this Saturday, and every fan is invited.

Fresh off their historic Walter Cup victory, the team will parade down Ste-Catherine Street starting at 11 a.m. Players and coaches will arrive at the Quartier des spectacles between Bleury and Clark streets to address fans before the festivities wrap up at 1 p.m.

The celebration follows an unforgettable Wednesday night when Montreal defeated the Ottawa Charge 4-0 in front of more than 12,000 roaring fans at the Canadian Tire Centre. The win brought the Walter Cup to Canada for the first time in Professional Women's Hockey League history.

The Victoire owned the third period, scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes while goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens shut down every Ottawa attempt. Forward Abby Roque netted two goals, while captain Marie-Philip Poulin led the charge with eight playoff points.

Poulin's stellar performance earned her the Ilana Kloss Trophy as the playoffs' most valuable player. Her eight points tied the league record for most points in a single postseason.
