Morocco Joins Trump's Gaza Board of Peace as Founding Member

Morocco just took a historic step toward Middle East peace by accepting President Trump's invitation to join the Gaza Board of Peace as a founding member. King Mohammed VI's decision marks the first confirmed participation in an international effort to bring stability and prosperity to Gaza after decades of conflict.

The Moroccan foreign ministry welcomed what it called "the second phase of Trump's comprehensive peace plan" on Monday. The announcement positions Morocco as a key player in the newly formed National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, designed as a temporary body to guide the region's transition.

Morocco isn't alone in receiving this invitation. Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also accepted, with his press secretary confirming the country's commitment to "achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening interstate trust and global stability." Russia, Belarus, Poland, and Israel have all received invitations as well, though their participation remains unconfirmed.

The Board of Peace represents the centerpiece of Trump's vision for Gaza, first mentioned back in September 2025 as peace negotiations gained momentum. Following a peace deal that began on October 13, the United Nations adopted a resolution endorsing the comprehensive plan, giving it international legitimacy.

Trump's roadmap includes 20 specific points covering peace, stability, reconstruction, and economic prosperity for the region. The plan involves multiple governing bodies, including an Office of the High Representative for Gaza and an executive board, all working together to transform the territory's future.
