When an Amber Alert flashed across screens in Phoenix on Sunday morning, a QuikTrip security guard recognized exactly what he was seeing. The toddler and the woman at his gas station matched the alert perfectly.

Little Kehlani Rogers had allegedly been taken from her Avondale home the night before. Police were searching for her and 23-year-old Marina Noriega across the Phoenix area.

The security guard didn't hesitate. He spotted a Camelback Moving crew filling up at the station and asked for help.

Together, they identified the suspect's pickup truck and came up with a plan. The moving crew positioned their large trucks around Noriega's vehicle, boxing her in completely while the guard called 911.

"We're a moving company, so we're not professional heroes by any means," said Chad Olsen, president of Camelback Moving. "But to listen to the dashcam and watch the dashcam footage of the crew kind of identifying the situation and who this was, and putting the plan together that we're going to block this truck in with our truck and not allow them to leave. I couldn't be more proud."

Phoenix police arrived within minutes. Officers took Noriega into custody and confirmed that Kehlani was safe and unharmed.

Sunny's Take

The company celebrated their team on social media, naming all eight employees who helped: Robert Hernandez, Ralph Vollmert, Christopher Dixon, Kevin Place, Kevin Kimes, Gerardo Galacia, Kobe Brown, and Michael Macallum. Their post reminded everyone why Amber Alerts matter so much.

These weren't trained emergency responders or law enforcement officers. They were people on their way to help families move furniture who chose to act when it mattered most.

The security guard could have called police and waited. The moving crew could have said it wasn't their problem. Instead, they worked together and likely prevented a dangerous chase through Phoenix streets.

Awareness plus action equals real change, and this time it brought a little girl home safely.
